What does COVD-19 mean about my upcoming photo shoot?

Most sentences at the moment start with Corona Virus or COVID-19. We are watching the situation develop and unfold daily so I have created this article to outline what my business is doing during this next phase, and the precautions I am taking with my clients who have photo sessions booked or would like to book a photography session.

Firstly, the health of of my clients will always come first. If the situation changes, we will adapt accordingly and respect any government or World Health Organisation advice. This is some key information you need to know about what the current practice looks like.

  • If myself or anyone in my home displays a fever or any symptoms of a respiratory illness, the shoot will be postponed.
  • If you or anyone in your home displays a fever or symptoms of a respiratory illness, the shoot will be postponed.
  • Where possible, all shoots will be conducted outside in nature so that there is less risk of contaminated surfaces and a distance of 1.5m can be maintained as a precaution.
  • All direction will come via verbal instructions opposed to touch posing. There will be no direct contact between the photographer and client.
  • We will wash our hands at the beginning and end of a session with soap for a minimum of 20 seconds. If hand washing facilities are not available, we will all use hand sanitiser.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to get in touch directly if you have an upcoming shoot and have any concerns. If this enforced slower pace might actually be a great time for a family photo shoot, please get in touch too at  bridget@bridgetwood.com.au.

*Please note, this information will be updated as the situation changes. Please remember to stay calm, avoid unnecessary large gatherings and get your information from reputable sources like the World Health Organisation.

Mother and baby face to face

With the wind in our hair, we headed straight to one of the Gold Coast's beaches for this family photography session. I met with Mia Taninaka and her sons for an outdoor family session, one sunny afternoon in a special location in the hinterland of Byron Bay. This session embodies everything I love exploring in my work. The chaos, beauty and vulnerability of motherhood. Romantic yet raw. Intense and free. Amazing and ordinary. My location guide
